Well, the guy starts complimenting me on my bike and how nice it looks. I thank him and add that it's turning into a money pit because of all the upgrades and time I spend on working on it. When I say this, I notice the guy's ears kinda perk up
So, I went to Wal-Mart yesterday on my motorcycle and parked in the sectioned off area near the handicapped parking slots. Almost everyone on bikes park in these places without any problem from Wal-Mart staff or even cops.
But, yesterday after I got the bike turned off and was trying to figure out where I was going to lock up my full-faced helmet, a guy and his (I think) mom pull up right next to me. Dude gets out of the passenger side and his (I think) mom gets out of the driver's side.

and when his toothless (I think) mom comes over to tell me she likes the decals I've placed on the fairing, he starts telling her that I said it's becoming a money pit. So, I agree. Then, as he starts walking toward the store he, turns to me, starts talking about the bike being a "Harley", and that I should be use to spending a lot of money on it by now -
Almost as if I should have expected to spend a lot of money for anything to do with owning a Harley. His last words before getting to the door were, "You should have bought a Goldwing. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper."

Yeah, the same guy that was telling me two minutes ago what a nice bike I had, was now really trying to hate on it because he assumed it was a "Harley".
Just to be clear, there is nothing on my bike that says it's a Harley and I've even incorporated the Yamaha tuning fork logo into the side panels of the saddle bags -

but, Like I say, there is nothing on it that says Harley Davidson. So, I tell the guy before he ducks through the doorway to big-box wonderland, "Yeah, I know. That's why this is a Yamaha."

But the fact of the matter is that it is still expensive to add upgrades to any vehicle - regardless of the brand.

So, I'm not sure what the guy was trying to prove other than to voice his dislike for Harley Davidson products because they are so expensive.

Their car was gone when I got back out to the bike with my groceries so at least I was spared having to deal with him and his toothless (I think) mom any further.
